OUR PHILOSOPHY
Education Through music may sound like just a music course - but it is so much more!  If you are involved with adults or children of any age and in any area of learning ( not just music), ETM's innovative program can help!  The program's unique approach to learning reflects the natural, joyful learning process of children.

Taught and used throughout the world, Education Through Music provides a gateway for education and thoughtful teaching by letting a child's behaviour and stage of learning development take the lead.  Don't just take our word, check out our testimonials and read what others have to say!

We believe that whether you are a new graduate or a seasoned professional looking for a new approach, studying ETM can help you motivate, excite and refresh your classes.  Using your ETM training will challenge your students in all areas of learning (not just music) and that can have a profound effect on all areas of their lives.

A PROGRAM FOR LEARNING AND LITERACY
Song-experience games create real-life situations for children.  They are effortlessly drawn into learning each time they play a song-experience game and practice symbolizing the song and language.  The state of mind that this creates fosters a sense of well-being that sets the stage for profound learning in all areas.

SUCCESS AND SELF- CONCEPT
Education Through Music teaches a child to wait, participate, listen, think, move, time their response, interact with others, organize, strategize, predict, self-monitor and learn compassion and empathy.  This is possible because each song-experience game provides a secure and enjoyable situation in which to think and learn.  The repetition necessary for learning is motivated by the children themselves as they keep insisting, "Let's do it again!"

Education Through Music is a celebration of life

In life there is song and play...
and every child is born with the innate ability to respond to music and play.  It is said that play develops intelligence and that real learning takes place through play.  Education Through Music opens the child's musical nature and opens the world to the child through play.

In life there is the child...
and teachers and parents, too.  You and your concern for the child are the focus of each Education Through Music experience.  Each course celebrates our right to song, to sing together with a family of friends and explore the mystery of the song-experience games fo Education Through Music.  This is a study for a season and a lifetime.

In life there is mystery...
Mystery guides our curiosity and connects us with others who can assist us.  It dares us to connect our hearts and minds and call upon our very intelligence.  In fact, Education Through Music may be the key that unlocks human intelligence.

In life there is delight...
and delight is what Education Through Music courses are built upon.  We promise you a fresh look at the art of delighting children.  We promise you song and a family of friends who delight in you and support your inquiry.  Join us.

In life there is the family...
Parents are a child's connection to the world.  They are the child's first and most vital teacher.  Effective parental partnership in the child's learning process is an important part of the child's development.  The song-experience games of Education Though Music are family events.  They allow families to see and hear each other openly, effectively and thoughtfully.  Parents and children play together, listen to each other, and respect each other's unique ideas.
